This is not a flower, it's really a llama

A dear friend and I had a debate today: do intentions and thoughts or actions matter more? For example, if a person does 'good' deeds, are they a good person just for doing those deeds? Or are good intentions required as well? Conversely, if a person has good intentions but does not follow through on them, are they good people? Or do they need to act on those intentions to be considered good?

Please note that 'good' means moral (according to the current moral standards), and is not meant as a measure of a person's quality or worth. (Of course, all people have equal quality and worth, simply because they are human!)
