Haiti, MLK day

Probably, you've all heard the sad news about the disaster in Haiti.  It's very depressing and scary, even to just hear about it on the news - I cannot imagine the horror the people must be facing there.  There are many projects started to get clean water and roads infrastructure in the long term, but many of them don't have sufficient funding yet.  Hopefully, they'll be able to make some good progress with the funding they do have, though.  It is nice to see Obama making effort to help Haiti.  US and Haiti are the first two independent countries of the Western Hemisphere, so we should be old chums, right? Hope that the people there are able to get some sanity in their lives soon!

Yesterday was MLK day.  If you've not yet read it, I highly recommend his Letter from a Birmingham Jail.  It is a very stirring work.

I don't know if you know but there was another aftershock earthquake of magnitude-6.1 in Haiti yesterday. This is really sad and we can't even imagine what the people of Haiti must be going through. My heart and prayers go out to them. Just when you think things are getting calm and people are trying to find their loved ones stuck in the disaster, a new earthquake just brings more fear and chaos with it.
