The Good

The Good: visits from family and a fun weekend.

Ev's 11 and 13 year old cousins are visiting from Alabama.  They are sweet, polite, and gracious kids and have sweet Southern drawls. After racking our brains for things kids that age might like to do, we ended up taking them to see the street performers in downtown and then taking a small (or atleast we thought it was small) hike.  Too bad we forgot water and proper shoes for them (they were wearing sandals) - the hike only lasted 10 minutes before the poor kids got tired.  They were good sports about it.  We've forgotten how steep it is for someone hiking for the first time, especially for someone who is used to sea level.  Since they are brother and sister, of course they teased each other a lot, and it was really funny to watch.  Tomorrow, Ev and I will do some mountain biking with them in Breckenridge, hopefully.

My mom is visiting too, and it was great to see her! She is a sweet-natured person and fun to talk to, and since she is my mom, she loves to lecture me too ;-) Since her birthday is coming up, we want to give her a break from packing and will are going to take her for lunch and a tour at the tea factory today.  The restaurant we're going to is called "Eggloo Delights", which I'm quite excited about because my brother loves the word "Eggloo" - he used to call me it when we were kids.  Hope that she likes it and cannot wait to go with her!

Work and school together take up a lot of time, as you all know, being really busy yourselves.  To keep a cool head and keep energetic through it, I've been being completely narcissistic on either Saturday or Sunday morning, and taking an entire half day to do all the things my heart desires.  So, Saturday morning, I went for a nice jog to the park and back, did a small hike and sat at the top and meditated for a while, and then came back for a long, warm shower with scented soaps.  This combination of jogging, meditating, and showering relaxes my body and mind and makes me feel fantastic and ready for whatever comes.  I am very happy whenever I get a chance to do it.  Afterwards, my sweet husband indulged me in some indoor climbing at the local gym. Climbing is another thing that makes me feel on top of the world.

Very sweet post :). Let me know how the tea factory is...I have always been wanting to go there. Do they have like scheduled tours?

Hey Sunshine! Yes - they have scheduled tours, that are free. When you go to the tea factory, you can pick up a ticket for the next scheduled tour (the tours start every hour), which is really a small packet of tea.

The tour was pretty short, and you can learn many interesting things about tea. For example, black tea is simply green tea that has been partially oxidized. The tour takes you into a "tea" room and a "mint" room, where you can smell the scented tea leaves and mint leaves.

While you're waiting for the tour to start, you can sample different flavors of tea in the lobby and look at a lot of really nice tea-inspired artwork, like teapots that are painted to look like elephants.

Wow...nice! I will plan it sometime this year to go there then :). Would you be interested to join me again?

Definitely, Sunshine! It would be nice to go there in the wintertime, especially, when their factory will be operating on weekends, so we can see how the machines work, and when it is enjoyable to drink lots of hot tea. :-)
